Connect With Your Core

connection

Get to it, to the core, to the heart of you.

What’s there, longing to be brought forth?

Step into the silence that surrounds you in these moments, the bliss of these words, the purity of a heart at peace. Step into it.

Why are you so afraid to reside here?

Do you not feel worthy enough to let go of the past?

To give yourself another chance?

To love yourself again?

Whenever you are unsure, go to your core, and feel at peace with where you are and with who you are.

Allow yourself to meet the moment.

Indulge in it.

It’s being offered to you right now.

What stops you from frequenting this place of peace?

From finding relief from the thoughts that plague you?

Perhaps you don’t know that underneath it all – you are alright.

Now you know.

Underneath all the drama – you are alright.

You are your true self.

You are whole.

The distractions are a veil, but underneath that veil is the real you at peace, in love, on fire, in tune, open, receptive, and worthy of being seen.

Discover that part of your being.

It is with you forever.

Inner Work – Centering Yourself

 GroundingYourself

I love the idea of “inner work”.

You know – building yourself up on the inside first.

It’s such a simple concept, but how many times do we try to change outside circumstances to no avail.

Changing your inner world allows for you to see the transformation of that “inner work” show up on the outside. It’s the work that I am digging deeper and deeper into everyday, and it’s fun to try and piece together my understanding of this profound insight. Today we are going to talk about grounding yourself.

The whole purpose of grounding yourself, is so that you can feel more secure in who you are, what you are made of, and what you have to offer to this world. Grounding yourself also allows for you to stabilize your energy so that when you go out into the world, external circumstances don’t disturb you as much or at all.

I am going to give you a few simple techniques that you can incorporate into your daily routine, that will help you feel more grounded.

Remember, the purpose of grounding yourself is so that you feel one with your true spirit, and so that the winds of change don’t wind you up so easily.

I am not going to tell you to sit in a cross-legged position, holding your hands together, for x amount of time, and to meditate. If I told you to do that, I would be a hypocrite, because I do not practice meditation (in the traditional sense), everyday.

Instead, I am going to give you some tips for grounding yourself that are easy to remember, easy to implement, without the frustration, and painless.

 #1 Standing Firm

  • Several times throughout your day, when you’re standing up and standing still, focus all of your energy to the soles of your feet. Act as if you are taking the energy from the top of your head, and pushing it down to the bottom of your feet. See how that feels for you. It should feel like you are not only standing on solid ground, but you should feel centered as well.

#2 Feel Your Stability

  • As you walk throughout your day, feel the stability of the ground beneath your feet. Take a few steps where you feel confident – meaning walk a little harder and more secure. You don’t have to scare anyone with your footsteps, just focus your attention on feeling how stable each of your steps is. Take into consideration that the ground is the “inner you” (stable, strong, and consistent). See how that feels to you. You should feel like you are walking on a solid platform at all times. Remember to practice this technique only when you are on a surface that feels secure (ex. concrete, a firm carpet, or a wooden floor).

#3 Pause

  • If you feel yourself getting tense throughout your day, stop for a few moments and take 3 deep breaths. I cannot explain to you how effective this technique is. Make sure when you breathe in, that you are breathing deeply, and make sure when you breathe out, that you are exhaling until you feel all the air is pushed out. Do this at a pace that is comfortable for you. It will work wonders. You should feel like you could revisit that space at anytime. You may even have a moment of appreciation throughout the day that you can use this technique with. You don’t have to do it only when you are feeling tense. The purpose of the technique is for you to realize where your center is, and to draw you back to the present moment or to help you appreciate the present moment more fully.

#4 The “Soul and I” Mantra

  • When you are lying down, preferably right before bedtime, place your hand on your heart and repeat this phrase.

My Soul and I Are One – Align My Thoughts With That Fact.

  • Say that phrase as many times as you need to before you allow yourself to drift to sleep. The reason we are doing this right before you go to sleep is because your mind tends to relax right before bed, and is more receptive to certain ideas. Also, you acknowledging that you would like to align your thoughts with your soul, calls forth new ideas and things that will help you do that. It truly is a remarkable tool.

You see, I told you the tips would be painless.

You can use any one of these techniques at anytime. Use your creativity, and design the times where you think they will work best for you. After some practice, you’ll notice that they just come naturally to you, and before you know it, centering yourself will come naturally too.
