Connect With Your Core

connection

Get to it, to the core, to the heart of you.

What’s there, longing to be brought forth?

Step into the silence that surrounds you in these moments, the bliss of these words, the purity of a heart at peace. Step into it.

Why are you so afraid to reside here?

Do you not feel worthy enough to let go of the past?

To give yourself another chance?

To love yourself again?

Whenever you are unsure, go to your core, and feel at peace with where you are and with who you are.

Allow yourself to meet the moment.

Indulge in it.

It’s being offered to you right now.

What stops you from frequenting this place of peace?

From finding relief from the thoughts that plague you?

Perhaps you don’t know that underneath it all – you are alright.

Now you know.

Underneath all the drama – you are alright.

You are your true self.

You are whole.

The distractions are a veil, but underneath that veil is the real you at peace, in love, on fire, in tune, open, receptive, and worthy of being seen.

Discover that part of your being.

It is with you forever.

Message Of The Day – Stop Doubting Yourself

doubt quote

If you have a dream, it’s because you are the person to see it into being. Don’t doubt yourself. Trust that your heart’s desire wants to be brought to life, and you are the perfect one to see it through.

Artist Confession – I’m Afraid I Won’t Do It Justice

humble

I’m afraid I won’t do it justice.

What am I referring to?

My creative core.

How do I take something so big, so beautiful, so powerful, so rich, and do it justice? I am afraid I won’t capture it sometimes.

I can feel the heartbeat of my creative core, and it brings me to tears just to sit in its presence sometimes. So how do I take all of those roots, those ancestors that came before me, that brilliance, and express that. Pen and paper can’t capture it all.

I sometimes feel inadequate to it – I must admit.

But, I am learning that it has chosen me to express in any level or capacity that I can, and when I am more comfortable allowing the largeness of that energy to flow more freely, it will be right there with me.

So to all the artists out there, just flow, just be, just create, and little by little open up to the vastness that is your creative being.

It’s not rushing you.

It’s not pressuring you.

It just wants to be with you.

It wants to mingle, to mix, to create with you in any way that it can, and it’s more than willing to wait until you believe in yourself and your ability enough to really own what you have.

Having Difficulty Finding Support On Your Chosen Path? Trust Is The KEY.

path

I received a question from the Ask Ray – Open Interaction that I posted yesterday.

The question had to do with expression, being supported, and feeling worthy to receive the blessings that come with following your chosen path.

Ray had alot to say.

I am not surprised though. This question or questions that are similar have been asked many times before and still weigh heavy on alot of people’s minds.

So here is Ray’s (my spirit guides) response to this question.

Anything that your heart desires you can have.

Anything.

The first thing that you need to come to terms with is trusting the process. The process entails you being the artist and the creator that you are, but also trusting that there is a bigger broader energy that is backing and supporting you expressing yourself in the way that you would like.

Now sometimes people think if they aren’t doing a certain thing – a certain way, then they’re not being backed and supported . Those thoughts are not accurate.

You are always being backed and supported for anything that brings you joy, that lights you up, and that allows you to express yourself as the being you know yourself to be.

Now sometimes, there might be something that gets you a little off track, because you believe that you have to do it all, be it all, and gain the support, but we want you to start trusting that you will rendezvous with the right people, circumstances, and events that will help you progress in the direction that you would like.

However, sometimes when you are worried and not allowing it to come as easy as you would like (because you think it should be more difficult – it shouldn’t be this easy to flow in this way), it stops the pieces from moving into your experience you see. So we want you to begin to trust the whole process – to not try to do it all by yourself – to just flow and create and move in the direction of your dream, and to trust that the infinite is backing your decision to move in this direction.

You might not see the people and circumstances right away, but the more you open your heart to the fact that there is nothing you cannot do. As a matter of fact if you chose it, that means most likely that it is a desire of your heart to express in that form or fashion.

So believe in that.

Trust it.

Anchor yourself, and know that everything that you need to support that beingness will rise up to meet you, but you have to trust that it will. If you worry, if you stifle your creativity because things are not moving as quickly as you would like, if you block yourself from opening your heart and flowing in that expression, it makes it more difficult for you to line up with the things that are around you that can help you move quicker.

There is well-being all around you waiting to reveal itself to you.

You’ve matched up with some of it now.

We want to let you know that you are ready to start receiving and allowing. We want you to acknowledge that you heard the call. We want you to acknowledge that that’s a special part of you.

Your intuition, your gut feelings, you following your heart and that flow, all of that is a special part of you. We want you to take that with you, and stop worrying so much about what the eyes don’t see and trust that beingness of you to guide you to where you need to be.

We are most appreciative of the opportunity to speak with you and say this that clearly. We don’t mean to run on so long, but we want you to really hear what we are trying to say. We appreciate you. We appreciate your question. Blessings be to you dear one.

Recipe For Authenticity

recipe

I use to go nuts whenever I use to hear the message “be authentic”.

It use to drive me crazy because “in my mind”, I was being authentic.

So I didn’t know why the universe was going out of its way to keep delivering this message to me. To me, I was following my dreams, I was doing all the right things, so why did the “be authentic” message keep coming up?

The message kept coming up because I wasn’t relating to or understanding it in a way that resonated with me. So just remember that – if you keep seeing a message, it is trying to show you something important, but in a way that is meaningful to you.

While decoding one of my dreams, I found out exactly what my soul was conveying by saying “be authentic”, and I created a little recipe that you might enjoy.

Recipe For Authenticity

Living authentically means to honor your calling, your dreams, and yourself.

First (1st), you have to believe that anything you desire is possible for your life.

A dream (something your heart longs for) occurs to you because it’s something that the inner you can see “fulfilled” in your life. If it’s a thought, that means it’s a possibility. If you have a dream, it’s because the inner part of you knows that your particular skills, drive, and nature can see it into manifestation. Trust this!

Second (2nd), you have to transform any deep fears and negative beliefs that are contradictory to what you desire.

For example, if you want a connection to the divine, but secretly believe that God is punishing you for some wrongdoing – those are contradictory beliefs and they keep you from the connection that you desire.

Do the work to clean up your beliefs about it. Find easier thoughts about it, and try viewing things from a different perspective. Do anything you can, to clear up any contradictory thoughts that keep you from your heart’s desire.

Third (3rd), get rid of anything in your life that does not support your highest good.

If there are negative people or situations in your life that keep you from living your calling or following your dreams – kindly move on from them. Not out of animosity, but out of respect for your life.

Fourth (4th), always speak your truth.

Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself and declare your space here and that’s fine. It’s never wrong for you to stand up for what you believe in. As a matter of fact, it’s a part of who you are. You don’t have to go on and on about it or argue until the day is over about it, but it is important for you to let others know the truth of who you are – if it is ever called in for questioning. Don’t be afraid to express that you are good, worthy, and relevant.

So those are the 4 ingredients.

#1 Believe In What You Desire + #2 Transform Your Deepest Fears and Negative Beliefs + #3 Get Rid Of Anything That Does Not Support Your Highest Good + #4 Always Speak Your Truth = Authenticity (honoring yourself, your dreams, and your calling).

PrintPrint The Recipe For Authenticity

It’s that simple.

Is Arguing Ever A Good Thing?

arguing

You scream.

She screams.

You say something mean.

She returns the favor.

She digs her claws in deep, opening wounds that you thought were gone.

You retaliate and back her into a corner.

Then f-bombs, and tears, and frustration follows.

No one has heard the other. No one has listened. Ready to just be right or to make your next point. But no one during the entire argument got what the other person was trying to say.

So why are we so intrigued with the temptation to step into the pit of fire that we know we should have stayed away from? The pit of fire that once you’re in, there’s no turning back – it has you.

In the midst of it, you just want it to stop.

All the pain, all the hurtful remarks, all the deep seated hatred that no one spoke about until the fight. Why do we put ourselves through it?

If the two of you can’t hear each other and if nothing gets settled, what is the purpose of arguing? Is it ever a good thing?

I think arguing serves no other purpose other than to help you release.

Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself, sometimes there is negative energy around that you can no longer put up with – you have to call it out, and sometimes you have to trust that it’s the right time to release someone from your life.

Getting some old stuff out so that you can make way for the new, is an essential part of your growth.

Somewhere along the line, you realize that you are two different people. Neither one of you is wrong – you are just on two different paths and aren’t right for each other at the time.

So you say your piece, and at the end when all the dust settles, you breathe it out, pray it out, meditate it out, and let it go.

You should never ever let anyone make you feel like bettering yourself or wanting more for your life is a crime, and if it takes a couple of f-bombs and other aggressive words to get that point across than so be it.

But what we do have to realize is that the argument is never about the other person. It’s for you to clarify what you will accept and what you won’t, what you are willing to put your time and attention into and what you are not, and what you are willing to hold on to and what you need to let go of.

That is the purpose of an argument, and it’s only a good thing because sometimes it helps you clarify and release things that are no longer serving you. It helps you release the people that don’t appreciate who you are as a person or what you’ve done for them.

After you have seen your side and her side, and you realize that you two are not good for each other, it’s time to move on.

I am not referring to just familial relationships, this could be any relationship that is taking your time and attention off of what’s important. If everything is an argument and there is no harmony there, it may be time for you to just move on to something new and better for you.

Not out of spite, not out of disrespect, but out of quite the contrary. You move on because you respect YOU, and you don’t have to put up with anything that makes you feel like less of yourself, saddened, or rejected. PERIOD.

So you move on.

Without any hatred or ill will towards the other, but also without you feeling like you have to be ashamed, embarrassed, or down on yourself either.

Stand up for yourself, and if that means that you have to let someone go in your life that can’t see your light – then so be it.

Thank you for reading!

How Do I Get This Ocean Outside Of Me?

For the past couple of days, something has felt off inside of me.

I have been so emotional.

The tears that I have cried over the past couple of days have been tears of sadness, accompanied with thoughts like: Who am I? Why am I here? What was I really made for? And why is the current way I am expressing myself, causing me to feel tension inside?

Yesterday night, after I settled down from the tears, I received a vision.

I was in the ocean surfing some beautiful waves. My logical mind wanted to disrupt the vision because riding big waves is impossible for me. For one, I am terrified of being in the middle of the ocean and for two, I can’t swim.

I trusted the vision however, and sat with the energy for a few minutes after it was done. I felt great after the vision and thought, wow that was wonderful – now only if I could do that in real life.

I got up this morning with the intention of just taking it easy. I was going to just let the day flow and just take whatever came my way. I didn’t want to get too much in the mind or pay too much attention to anything today. I just kind of wanted it to be an easy day.

Throughout the day, as I was on some social media sites I felt very emotional again, but this time I wasn’t crying tears of sadness. They were tears of joy, and they seemed to come forward for the littlest things.

Several quotes made me cry this morning.

Several pictures that I looked at made me cry.

Just seeing people in their natural states of being made me cry.

It was very weird to say the least, but I trusted that the New tears were a part of the process.

Out of nowhere I was drawn to this video where Kate Northrup (author and truth seeker) was interviewing Meggan Watterson (author and self proclaimed spiritual misfit) on Glimpse TV.

Meggan said something so profound, and it summed up the feelings that I have been feeling during this spiritual journey.

On my spiritual journey I have felt this feeling inside that I could not define until I heard Meggan say, how do I get this ocean outside of me?

The lightbulb went off, and I said, yes that’s it!

That is what I was feeling.

That is the tension inside that I didn’t know how to express, and she had summed it up perfectly.

It’s so true. You start out on this road knowing there is so much inside, but for some reason it seems too powerful to express.

Perhaps you were told to keep quiet in the past, or maybe your sensitivity, power, and presence were not appreciated throughout your life, or maybe you hold back out of fear that if you open your heart again, someone will take your best work (your heart, your love, and your sentiments), and stomp on them.

You’ve been heartbroken in the past, and you don’t trust opening your heart again or sharing yourself freely with others. I found a quote this morning that helps remedy those feelings.

Let your heart crumble into an infinite amount of tiny, precious seeds. Then plant love everywhere you go. InstagramView On Instagram

All of the above are reasons why I haven’t allowed the ocean of love, knowledge, and compassion to flow forth from me freely. The uneasiness that I feel is that ocean inside saying, it’s time to let go, it’s time to trust, it’s time to link with your real flow, but I keep denying its powerful presence into my life.

So the vision of the waves that I received from this morning showed me that I was getting ready to finally link with information that could help me move forward in a powerful way.

It is a beautiful feeling to see that your soul and your intuition are guiding you to the information that you need to hear.

So I am on a quest now to find out – how do I get this ocean outside of me?

I have done a pretty good job by releasing some of my heart and soul into different areas (my books, my Writing Heart on Tumblr, my Instagram site, my Pinterest boards, my Soul Guidance site, etc), but I feel there is something more – something bigger, that is trying to be expressed – something profound.

I can feel it trying to break through, but I still have these walls up, and it’s having a difficult time getting in.

I realized today that now is the time to surrender to the wave, to the flow, to life, and to trust that what is coming is beautiful and will reconcile these mixed feelings and heal alot of hearts.

It’s time to surrender and really openheartedly trust the flow of life without fear, without apprehension, and without apologies.

Thank you so much for reading!

Advice For Aspiring Writers From Renee “Soul Writer” Brooks

writer

Make no mistake about it, if you are drawn to writing, it is because you were called to it.

I always say,

If an art form grabs hold of you, it has obviously chosen you as the perfect medium for some of its greatest expressions.

It’s important for you to recognize what a beautiful gift you have as a writer.

It doesn’t matter if you are writing to get your ideas out into the world, if you are college graduate that is just breaking into the scene, or if you have a desire in your heart to share your experiences with the world through your writing – either way, you are on a very important path.

I recently became aware of a project TheLadders is running where they are reaching out to writers and asking them what advice they would give for new graduates attempting to break into the field. TheLadders is a career resource for professionals across all vocations and at at any stage of their careers.

With that said, I compiled a list of some things for you to remember as an aspiring writer.

These are things that I hope you can take along with you on your journey to becoming a writer.

It doesn’t matter what your background is or why you chose to write, all that matters is that you made a choice. Writing is a way of life, expression, and passion, and my wish for you is that you receive as many opportunities as you can – to fulfill your calling and express your unique point of view.

I choose to write because there is a space inside of me that I feel has something to say. There is a place of peace, compassion, and wisdom inside that is just begging to be heard.

I have also learned alot of life lessons that I love to intertwine into my books, passages, and articles that I write. I realize that my words are seeds, and I have the power to encourage, inspire, and uplift people or discourage, frighten, and dampen their spirit.

I choose to write to inspire people to never give up on their dreams, to fall in love with their creative ability, and to  live the life they truly desire.

With that said, here is a list of important things to remember as you progress along your journey. I hope you find value in the ideas that I present to you here, and that you are able to take them along with you as you morph into the writer that you really want to be.

10 Things For Aspiring Writers To Remember

Thing To Remember #1: Develop Your Own Voice

  • This is so important. It is not beneficial to follow the route that everyone else believes you should go. Develop your own flow with writing, stay true to yourself, write about things that you really care about, and not just to get attention, or likes, or comments.

  • The attention will come, just have patience and develop your own unique voice.

Thing To Remember #2: Write About What You Are Passionate About

  • Passion is the key when writing. Your passion is what is going to fuel you. The more you write about what you love, the more it will translate to your audience. They can feel the time and dedication that you put into your work. So participate in projects and write about things you are passionate about.

Thing To Remember #3: Believe In Yourself

  • So you’ve done the groundwork that you needed to. You got your degree, you took the class, you practiced your writing, or you sharpened your skills, but does that matter if you don’t believe in your ability? Some people do all the “right work”, but when it comes to really expressing themselves they freeze, and it’s because they don’t believe in their own ability.

  • They don’t believe their perspective, their experiences, and their unique voice has value. You have to believe that if writing called you – you have something very important to share with the world.

Thing To Remember #4: Have A Vision For Your Writing & Support It 100%

  • So why is it that you want to write? Do you want to make a living writing? Do you want to be famous? Do you want to come up with a new big idea to share with the world? Do you want to write for movies or plays? What is it? What is your vision for your writing? Do you want to just get new opportunities and see where it takes you? No matter what your vision is, just be sure to support it and believe in it 100%.

  • By support, I mean don’t doubt that you can rendezvous with circumstances that will take you in the direction of your dreams. So stay positive, be patience, and move forward with confidence.

Thing To Remember #5: Honor Your Inspiration

  • This is very important. There is nothing like feeling the spark of inspiration, and it’s important that you recognize when your muse is speaking to you. Make sure you write down your ideas. Just because you aren’t using them in that moment, doesn’t mean that you will not use them later on.

  • Also, when things are written out, you may be able to see some new connections, and be inspired even more to something new.

  • Never discard your ideas – write them down and honor your inspiration.

Thing To Remember #6: Recognize Your Value

  • As a writer you are a healer, a therapist, an inspirationalist (is that even a word), a life coach, a designer, a magician, and so much more. Through your writing and sharing, you are holding people’s attention. Your thoughts, stories, and ideas can help inspire another. It can help heal another. It can help them move on from an abusive relationship, or help them recognize the good where they thought there was none. You are the holder of a very important gift – recognize and value that.

Thing To Remember #7: Be Open To New Opportunities

  • When you are writing about things you love and living your passion, you will have people come out of nowhere and ask you to be a guest on their blog, participate in new projects, or they may just want to interview you. Remember to be open to those new possibilities. Sometimes blessings come in the craziest ways. So it’s so important that you are open to new opportunities.

  • You want to make sure however, that you are saying yes to the things you like to participate in. Don’t write about anything that your gut or your heart feels is not befitting to your character, but do stay open to the fact that opportunities may present themselves in many different ways.

Thing To Remember #8: Surround Yourself With People That Inspire You

  • There is nothing better than seeing people do exactly what you want to do in your life. Surround yourself with those people. Everytime you meet someone new that is living their dreams – appreciate it. Everytime you come across a blog or a page of someone who has made their living as a writer – appreciate it. You know why? Because you are getting a glimpse of exactly what you are capable of. It’s important to find your Yes. Your Yes, is a person that exemplifies the life you would like to live. Find your YESes, and surround yourself with them.

*Read the Who’s Your Yes article*

Thing To Remember #9: Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself

  • You are your own worst critic. It’s true. Understand that writing is a process. You are absorbing, learning, and growing everyday. You don’t have to be perfect.

  • Recognize your growth, reward your accomplishments, and don’t be so hard on yourself when ideas and opportunities don’t come right away. Give yourself time to find your style and take your time when searching for projects to participate in.

  • You have the ability to create and it will come to you. Just be patient with yourself and don’t take it so hard if you don’t meet certain goals. Life will always throw you another opportunity – recognize that.

Thing To Remember #10: Explore & Journal

  • Be sure to journal about your experiences as a writer. You can look back and see your progression. It’s fun when you notice that you have developed tremendously.

  • Expand your view of the world. Go to museums, explore your interests, dig into your dreams. The more data and experience you collect, the richer and more refined your writing will be.

  • There is so much waiting to burst forth from you. There are so many opportunities for you to rendezvous with, and so many new ideas just waiting for you to translate them.

  • Open your mind and your heart, explore the things you love, write about your experiences, and you will open a space within you that rains inspiration.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope these tips/advice can help you as you grow to master your craft.
