What Pregnancy Taught Me About Letting Go

letting go

I am a control freak.

Most of the time I want to know where, when, why, and how something is going to happen.

I am the kind of person that gets anxiety from waiting for surprises and gets very annoyed when I can’t figure out what’s coming next.

Let me tell you that pregnancy took the “control freak” in me and humbled it.

There was nothing that I could do from the moment that I found out I was pregnant. I was ecstatic, but very much afraid that I would have no control over the process.

I would have to spend 9 months not knowing what my surprise looked like. I would have to wait to hold my baby in my arms. I would have to go to sleep not knowing if everything was going to be okay, and wake up to anxiety attacks because I wasn’t sure if I could support my child, and if I was fit to be a good mother.

All that waiting, anxiety, and not knowing, and there wasn’t a damn thing that I could do about it.

Life is like that too. You build a business or try to follow your dreams and you have no idea what the outcome is going to be. You have to spend months – sometimes years waiting for your dreams to grow, but just like having a child, you have to trust in the unseen.

You just have to hope for the best, keep yourself in good health, allow yourself to grow, and face the challenges that come along with trying to nurture something into the world. I had no control over my baby’s development. I didn’t know how many fingers and toes he would be born with. I didn’t know if I was going to have all the stuff that I needed to make him comfortable when he was born.

But because it was my heart’s desire to bring a child into this world, everything that I needed showed up.

I realized that I didn’t have to be so afraid, and that I didn’t have control over the process anyway. All I could do was relax into what had the potential to be a great experience if I let it.

I have to tell you that I let it be the experience that I believed in, and it was wonderful.

I now get to see my gift (my son) everyday. Everyday there is something new that I love about him. I allowed myself to receive what I really desired – regardless of not knowing exactly what the outcome was going to be.

If there is one thing that I want you take away from this post, it’s that life is unpredictable sometimes. You cannot control every aspect of it, and it’s exhausting to try. All you can do is expect the best, trust in the people that are around you to do what they came to do, trust in your ability to nurture yourself into the flow of receiving, and then watch the experience manifest into something beautiful.

Removing Negativity – As Easy As Breathing?

breathing

I know that it’s difficult sometimes to remove negative thoughts and realign with your true nature.

Sometimes things just drive us crazy, and it is difficult in those moments to calm things down and form a different perspective.

Sometimes you just have to allow yourself however, the break or pause that you need to get things back on track.

Here is a resource that will help you realign with the present moment.

It’s a meditation that helps you breathe in positivity and breathe out negativity. It’s short, sweet, and to the point. Ray (my spirit guides) and I, had fun creating this meditation, and I hope you enjoy it.

Listen To Your Heart’s Whispers

heart

All is well within you – in the place where your soul resides. Find that place within. Where all of your choices are alright. Where all of your passions are permissible. Where your secrets are safe and your voice is heard.

That place within you whispers – it’s okay to say no.

It’s okay to not feel like it.

It’s okay to cry.

It’s okay to acknowledge that you’ve been hurt, unheard, and unseen – it’s okay.

It’s okay to feel scared sometimes and equally okay to feel joy.

Your soul is not judging you. It’s not in the business of making you feel bad or feel regrets. Your feelings are just that – feelings. Nothing more. Your feelings are no more the entire make up of you than a droplet of water is the ocean.

Your soul whispers – listen to your heart. It knows when you’re tired. It knows when you’ve had enough. It knows when it’s time for a change.

Your heart takes an interest in your deepest longings. It knows when you’ve stayed too long and when you haven’t stayed long enough.

That space within you breathes the whole of you at all times and it wants you to feel what calm, reassured trust in your entire beingness feels like.

Try The Angels Out – Go Ahead They Won’t Bite

Angels

My spirit guides are funny.

I can feel them sometimes when I am angry – just sitting in the background waiting. It’s almost like they are watching a child throw a tantrum, and then after a few minutes of entertaining themselves, they will then say, “okay come here and calm down a little”.

They try to reach me, and when I don’t listen they just sit back and watch me, eat their popcorn (kidding), and wait for me to ease up. Once I ease up and allow the space to receive the answers, they are right there to address my concerns.

Don’t we All get like that sometimes?

We get so stuck in our ways, so stubborn, and so unwilling to accept the help that is right in front of our face. I do it from time to time, and I know that you may do it from time to time too.

This stubbornness comes up especially when we are entering new parts of our experience. Think about it. When we are going after what we really want or trying to follow our dreams, we start this cycle of self sabotage.

We tell ourselves that we aren’t good enough, we don’t deserve better lives, we aren’t educated enough, or that we don’t have enough time or resources to make our dreams come true. The truth is however, you are just giving yourself a really hard time. You don’t have to do that, but sometimes we just go there by default.

It’s an old system.

We are use to avoiding things that make us feel uncomfortable – especially when it comes to following our dreams, but what if the process wasn’t as painful as you believe it is? What if it’s liberating? Try stepping out on faith just this once. Trust your intuition.

The angels are here to offer you a space.

The space is open for you to be honest about how you truly feel about yourself. Tell them what hurts you, tell them what’s frustrating you, and how you truly see yourself, and the angels will respond with love, sincerity, and attention.

They aren’t going to tell you just what you want to hear. They are going to show you where your perception of yourself may be a little off. They are going to let you know what they truly see from their perspective. Sometimes you just have a difficult time accepting your goodness and your good qualities. I understand. That’s why we are here to help.

It’s not difficult to allow this positive energy into your space.

It’s not difficult to allow something new. The only difficulty, is holding on to old outdated ways of looking at things when there is help and assistance all around.

So go ahead, tell the angels what you feel, let it out, get it off of your chest. At the very least, you will have friends there that will listen and respectfully reply to your concerns.

I can also assure you that you will receive so much more than that when speaking to the spirit guides known as Ray. They are here and willing to help you, but you have to be willing to allow the help and to receive the answers you have been waiting for.

Go ahead, give them a try. If you need to know more about Ray before deciding to work with them – you can read some of their messages here or see some of their video messages here.

If you are ready to give them a try – follow me here.

We can help you see things differently, but you have to be willing to accept the help. It’s here for you.

LOVE IN TEN SENTENCES CHALLENGE

I was challenged by Lisa from the Real Mom Of Long Island blog for the “Love In Ten Sentences” challenge. Thank you Lisa for thinking of me! I think I am up for it.

I will go ahead and write my version of my love poem in ten sentences, and then I will challenge a few of you to do the same.

The challenge is to write a poem about love and title it “Love in Ten Sentences.” It must have 10 lines, each 4 words long. Every line must contain the word “love.” At the end of the poem, you must include a favorite quote about love. Then challenge fifteen other bloggers.

MY POEM

Love – a baby’s smile

Love – a fresh start

Love – a gentle caress

Love – a warm heart

Love – the sun’s rays

Love – a heartfelt “goodnight”

Love – a peaceful lake

Love – an encouraging “goodbye”
